Requirements

Summary of Position Responsibilities :

KAEKO is seeking a Licensed Civil Engineer. The Civil Engineer is responsible for providing professional guidance leadership and training to other personnel and for planning and coordinating new projects related to land development for site and commercial projects. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :

• Assembling construction plans and preparing submittals for reviewing agencies
• Organizing and scheduling work to accomplish goals on projects within established budgets and timelines
• Coordination with CAD Techs and other design team members.
• Potential responsibility for full design for smaller / simpler projects or performing task-oriented design of more complex projects
• Research and conform to applicable city / agency design guidelines codes and checklists
• Research and acquire as-built info for the horizontal and vertical design to existing constraints.
• Site / Commercial Designers will coordinate with other consultants on a design team
• Perform vertical grading design and earthwork analysis
• Prepare drainage calculations
• Assist with the preparation of feasibility studies
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
• Ensure quality control and work with CAD staff to ensure plans reflect the project design
• Perform various other design tasks.
• Establishing and improving standards practices guidelines and specifications.
• Provide real time advice and decisions technical in nature and cost estimates as needed to the project managers.
• Review and direct revisions to design packages as required.
• MUST have attention to detail.
• Takes pride in work and takes initiative to expand knowledge base.
• Review as-builds submittals and redlines.
• Coordinate with all disciplines involved (Architectural Mechanical Electrical and Structural) including outside consultants and contractors.
• Technical interface with code officials and contractors and customers.
• Ability to use the latest version of Revit and / or AutoCAD to prepare design drawings with plans and details as designated by the engineering team.
• Must be able to work well in a team environment.
• Participate in meetings with Customers and Owners to review the scope of work discuss ways to reduce costs and provide value engineering ideas.
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills when designing / developing engineered drawings.
• Coordinate changes and gather information from various resources to enable correct information flow.
