PURCHASING ASSISTANT

Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Purchasing Assistant for a construction materials company based in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the purchasing department at a Robotics Company that serves well known companies like Tesla, BMW, and Mercedez by assisting with the procurement of materials, components, and supplies essential to production. You will help maintain vendor relationships, track purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery of goods to keep projects on schedule. This position involves reviewing inventory levels, preparing purchase requests, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate purchasing records. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a key role in streamlining procurement processes, supporting cost-control initiatives, and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the supply chain team.

Pay Rate

18.00 to $20.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours

Monday through Friday, 8 00 am to 5 00 pm

Purchasing Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services according to organizational requirements.
  • Create and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with vendors to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with internal departments to forecast demand.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure timely payments and invoice matching.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and assist in maintaining approved vendor lists.

Purchasing Assistant Qualifications and Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with ERP systems is a bonus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role is a plus.
