job_description.job_card.job_description4+ years of backend engineering experience (Python). Strong systems thinking and focus on data accuracy. Comfort working across SQL, NoSQL, streaming, and queueing systems. High ownership mindset and willingness to dive deep into data issues. Experience with real-time or low-latency systems. Background in complex scraping or working without strong APIs. Familiarity with distributed, event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ). Experience with large-scale ETL using Airflow, dbt, or Spark.
Velocity Tech has partnered with an exciting tech start-up that is looking for multiple Backend Developers to join their team.
This role will be on-site in San Francisco. They are currently seed-funded with a runway of 2+ years but looking to raise their series A next year.
What You’ll Do
- Develop high-quality data pipelines pulling events, conversion values, and LTV signals from Snowflake, Databricks, and Redshift.
- Scrape and process unstructured data from social platforms and ad libraries, using LLMs to turn it into structured inputs.
- Own the logging and observation framework that captures every system and market state change.
