Position Title : Permanent Substitute

Summary : The substitute teacher will assume professional responsibility for providing learning experiences and supervision of students in a supportive and positive classroom environment.

Compensation : $40,750 per year

Qualifications :

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of the use of various technological software and equipment for tasks such as, but not limited to, word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and telecommunications.
• Understand the requirement to maintain confidentiality concerning charter school-related matters.
• Knowledge of child growth and development, individual differences in ability, personality and interests and learning / motivational techniques.
• Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
• Knowledge of grade specific school curriculum and concepts, including all subject matters taught.
• Knowledge of Smartboard functions and tools.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work; parents, students and faculty etc.
• Prior to employment, the following must be addressed :
• Required to complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person's offense.
• Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation.
• Provide evidence Tdap (Tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis) Rubella, Measles, Mumps, Tuberculosis / PPD Test and Varicella

Experience : Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.

Equipment : Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

Travel Requirements : Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Works in standard office and school building environments.
