Commissioning Engineer – Odessa, TX
We are seeking a hands-on Commissioning Engineer with strong technical skills in equipment wiring, PLC troubleshooting, and control system commissioning for oilfield equipment such as BOP control systems, manifolds, pumps, and hydraulic / electrical systems. This role involves wiring verification, signal testing, PLC / HMI programming, and system start-up in both the shop and at customer sites.
Experience and Requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs
- Experience in industrial manufacturing
- Knowledge of wiring, testing, and system commissioning
- Background with Rockwell Automation and Allen-Bradley PLCs preferred
Duties and ResponsibilitiesHands -On Commissioning
Perform electrical wiring checks and verify connections against engineering schematicsTest and validate signals, inputs, and outputs (I / O) for PLCs, HMIs, and control systemsExecute functional and safety system testing in compliance with API standardsPerform hydraulic and pneumatic system operational checks during commissioningPLC and HMI Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot and program Rockwell Automation and Allen-Bradley PLCsDiagnose and resolve faults in control logic, instrumentation, and communication networksCalibrate sensors, transmitters, and control devicesEquipment and Electrical Work
Interpret and work from wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical schematicsPerform electrical troubleshooting and repairs on motors, pumps, and small enginesVerify and document system modifications and as-built updatesTesting and Documentation
Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and I / O checklistsWork with Quality Control to ensure equipment meets functional and safety requirementsField Work
Travel to customer sites for field commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair support
