Research Compliance Coordinator
Lead and manage the research compliance program. Coordinate development of written policies, procedures, and guides related to research compliance. Coordinate educational and training programs that focus on the elements of research compliance and ensure that all appropriate employees and researchers are knowledgeable about pertinent policies and standards. Coordinate internal compliance review and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews of policies and programs. Participate in investigation of matters related to compliance, including designing and coordinating internal investigations and any resulting corrective action. Oversee and monitor the implementation of research compliance program elements. Act as a staff person for research compliance committees and a liaison with governmental organizations responsible for implementing compliance regulations. Supervise other designated research compliance staff. Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice Provost for Research and Innovation.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is necessary, while a master's degree is preferred. At least three years of research, research administration, or auditing related experience is necessary; and at least five years of experience in a professional office setting is preferred. The ability to obtain certifications in export control, human subjects, and animal use in research within the first 18 months of employment is required.
Ability to lead, coordinate, audit, and communicate activities related to research compliance. Knowledgeable in research regulatory requirements covering a wide range of topics such as conflicts of interest in research, export control, protection of human subjects in research, animal care and use programs, occupational and environmental health and safety, research ethics and misconduct, research data, security and privacy, international research compliance.
