Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer for a contract opportunity in Fort Bragg, NC.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :
- You have at least 6 years of experience with two or more development languages such as Java, C#, or Ruby (Java and .NET preferred).
- You can skillfully write high-quality, well-tested code and you are comfortable with Object-Oriented programming.
- Comfortability with Agile methods, such as Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum and / or Kanban.
- You enjoy influencing others and always advocate for technical excellence while being open to change when needed.
- You're willing and able to commit to travel to client sites in order to solve their business problems.
- You're resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives.
- Bonus points if you have working knowledge of cloud technology such as AWS, Azure, Kubernetes and Docker.
Six years of job-related experience.
Six to eight years of experience as software engineer.
Experience with computer programming.
MUST have a TS / SCI clearance to be considered.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment, and by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintainingpersonal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Protects operations by keeping information confidential.Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Supports and develops software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.REQUIRED EDUCATION :
B.A. or B.S. in computer science, information technology, or related discipline M.S. preferred
