Description :

The Electrician Apprentice performs a variety of tasks and assists other craft workers in the construction, maintenance, and repair activities on solar PV systems. This role requires applicants to enroll in our company supported, Registered Apprenticeship program where you will complete BOTH OJT hours, and course work (after hours) which will be monitored . Enrollment is Mandatory for this position . The cost for this program is roughly $695 per year and once the employee completes course study and passes testing after each module, Novel will reimburse 50% of the tuition. This is a four-year program and once completed you will be able to test for a Journeyman's license. This role may require travel within Maine to various project sites. A drivers license and Reliable transportation is a must!

Requirements : What you’ll do

• Take direction from crew foreman with the installation of solar projects in the field.
• Maintains a clean job site : picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
• Shipping, receiving and storing construction or conservation materials and equipment
• Loads and unloads trucks using appropriate equipment.
• Delivers materials to construction site and / or storage facility.
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director or HR manager.
• Acts as a trouble shooter on current projects
• Maintain and monitors quality standards
• Assures compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA and / or MSHA safety standards
• Post-construction site clean-up performed on a timely basis.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Preferred Education and Experience :

Associates degree or equivalent in construction technology

1-2 years solar construction experience

Bonus Points

NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification

OSHA 30 certification

Fall protection training

Forklift operator experience

Mobile Elevated Work Platform

First aid certified

Competent in customer service and email correspondence

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $26.98 - $40.00 per hour
