Accountant / Financial Analyst Job Overview

We are looking to hire an Accountant / Financial Analyst under the direction of our CFO and Sr. Accounting Manager. This is a new position that allows the individual to perform both the core functions of accounting and the analytical tasks typically associated with financial analysis, making it a great fit for someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a finance-oriented environment.

Our ideal candidate is one that has accounting experience and is excited about the chance to take on more financial analyst responsibilities. We want to find someone who jumps at the chance to take on more responsibility when available to broaden their knowledge and skillset. This is a great opportunity to get involved in the accounting and internal reporting of our company as well as learn the intricacies of private equity investing via the principal investing side of our business.

Accounting Responsibilities (75% of your time)

  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring smooth and efficient financial transactions.
  • Lead the management and processing of expense reports, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Reconcile various accounts, including bank and balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Administer the general ledger in QuickBooks, ensuring consistency and accuracy across financial records.
  • Play a key role in the month-end and year-end close processes, contributing to timely and precise financial reporting.
  • On the principal investing side of our business, coordinate the collection of internal signatures on investment-related documents and manage the internal fund collection process when new investment opportunities arise.

Financial Analysis Duties (25% of your time)

  • Conduct Financial Planning & Allocation analysis to assess resource distribution and guide decision-making.
  • Prepare weekly internal reports tracking KPIs, providing actionable insights to support business strategy.
  • Assist in forecasting and budgeting processes, helping to predict financial outcomes and inform strategic planning.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement across the organization.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • 1-4+ years of professional experience in accounting.
  • Previous experience in Quickbooks is a big plus
  • Intermediate-to-Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong business acumen combined with sound and pragmatic judgment
  • Strong analytical mindset with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • Experience with K1s is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Compensation & Benefits

  • A reasonable estimate of the compensation range is $60,000-$75,000, plus bonuses. ( The current range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to experience, skills, and education)

    Salary Description
