Job Summary :

  • The Controls Technician 3 is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant electrical and control systems, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and automation subsystems. This position provides advanced technical expertise, supports continuous operations, and trains Maintenance Technicians across multiple shifts. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production and facility equipment.

Job Duties :

Diagnose, repair, and maintain production equipment including packaging, processing, and utility systems.

Troubleshoot and program PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, servo drives, and related automation systems.

Install and maintain electrical distribution systems, motor controls, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.

Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks using a CMMS.

Support production by performing in-process troubleshooting during operations.

Provide technical leadership and training to other maintenance personnel.

Maintain accurate documentation of electrical and controls systems.

Ensure compliance with safety policies, GMPs, and regulatory requirements.

Assist in root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions.

Occasionally travel for training, parts procurement, or offsite troubleshooting.

Qualifications :

Formal training in electrical or electronic engineering technology.

Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (120V–480V).

Experience with PLC, VFD, HMI troubleshooting and programming (Allen-Bradley / FactoryTalk preferred).

Ability to interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical drawings.

Proficiency with CMMS systems for work order tracking and documentation.

Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
