Job Summary

Join our cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) team as an Experienced Certified Surgical Technologist. This full-time evening position operates from 10 : 30 AM to 11 PM every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with call requirements. We offer a $10,000 relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

We are located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center, known for our world-class clinical expertise and patient-centered care. Your role will involve :

  • Providing expert perioperative patient care using specialized equipment and instrumentation.
  • Functioning as a scrub assistant to the physician during surgical and invasive procedures.
  • Collaborating with a Registered Nurse to ensure optimal patient care.

You will need to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary for care appropriate to our patients through different life cycles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education : Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
  • Licenses / Certifications : Certified in Basic Life Support, and current certification as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA or NCCT

    • Experience / Knowledge / Skills :

  • Surg Tech I : 1 year
  • Surg Tech II : 2-4 years
  • Surg Tech III : 5+ years

    • Principal Accountabilities

  • Serve as a resource specialist for an assigned operating room area / specialty service.
  • Demonstrate aseptic technique and advanced surgical practices for all patients.
  • Verify the availability and functioning of supplies, instruments, and equipment prior to procedures.
  • Ensure safe care while adhering to all hospital policies and standards.
  • Promote professional growth by meeting continuing education requirements and supporting departmental goals.
  • Provide mentorship and training to less experienced staff.
  • Commit to compassionate care while modeling service standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
