Kleinfelder's SoCal Area is hiring a Structural Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA! We’re looking for engineers who are passionate about making a difference. Our projects span clean water, wastewater, telecommunications, facilities, and more — offering diverse challenges and opportunities to expand your expertise. You’ll work alongside professionals across the company and the country, gaining exposure to disciplines like project management, business development, and leadership.

Responsibilities :

• Perform structural analysis for a variety of building-type structures using advanced software or hand calculations. Calculations produced will be neatly prepared and organized for efficient checking by others and efficient use by drafters for preparing CAD drawings and as a deliverable when required.
• With some assistance from senior level staff, prepare detailed engineering plans, details, and specifications for a variety of building projects.
• With some assistance from senior level staff, prepare knowledgeable formal structural technical reports.
• Perform site structural observations to verify conformance to structural plans and specifications.
• Perform condition assessment site visits to investigate and assess existing aging structures requiring repair and make recommendations.
• Review shop drawings and other construction phase submittals and respond to RFIs.
• Clearly and confidently communicate with key members of the project including, clients, architects, contractors, and senior staff.
• Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering and field work.
• Conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner.
• Some travel may be required.

Requirements :

Education : Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures. Master's degree preferred.
