Job Summary
The College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and the Graduate College of Biomedical Sciences at Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) invite applications for a tenure-system faculty position in the area of cell and molecular biology and pathophysiology and immunomodulation of diseases in translational research primarily in the field of cardiovascular and musculoskeletal diseases. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Clinical & Translational Science Immunology Biomedical Engineering Biomedicine or related fields with research expertise in cell and molecular biology pathophysiology and immunomodulation of disease process and translational research approaches. The position will be filled initially at the non-tenure track Assistant Professor level and upon success will be considered for tenure-track. The candidate is expected to establish a sustainable research program; make significant scholarly contributions to translational research in cardiovascular diseases particularly in atherosclerotic diseases plaque instability intimal hyperplasia and restenosis; further develop the discipline; be an effective teacher and mentor of graduate and postgraduate students in health sciences; and engage in institutional and professional service. Other duties and responsibilities will be as agreed upon with the Senior Vice President for Research the Deans (or designees) in the colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the Head of the Department of Translational Research.
