Pipe Crew Operator

A Southland Holdings company is currently accepting resumes for an experienced  Pipe Crew Operator  for our large heavy civil project located in  Tampa, FL .

General responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Assist in instillation of pipe for sewer and water lines.
• Operate an excavator (350-470 size) and other heavy equipment as necessary safely and efficiently.
• Must have experience digging for a pipe crew at times 20+ feet deep on line and grade.  Perform daily checks on equipment.
• Communicate with Foreman / Superintendent, and crewmen to safely accomplish tasks.
• Safely dig and backfill as directed by management.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Qualifications Understand basic principles of laying water main and gravity storm drain ranging in diameter from 8”-66”.
• Ability to operate a rubber tire loader when needed.
• Must be willing to help crew with other activities when an operator is not needed.
• Proficient at layout reading survey points and measuring elevations.
• Good communication skills to work effectively and safely.

Ability to work overtime as required.   Note :
