Clayton Services is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join a fast-growing company in Northeast Houston. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems and equipment to support efficient operations and high-quality production. This role requires hands-on engineering expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement in an industrial setting.
Job Type : Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate : $90,000-$120,000 / year, depending on experience

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and test mechanical components, systems, and equipment
- Create and review technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to ensure system reliability and efficiency
- Perform root cause analysis and provide solutions for mechanical failures and process improvements
- Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and project management
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and manuals
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Participate in Management of Change (MOC) reviews and document system modifications
- Provide technical support during shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency troubleshooting
- Other duties as assigned
Mechanical Engineer Skills and Abilities :
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials scienceProficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to speak and write EnglishMust be able to legally work in the United StatesThis is not a remote position; no relocation assistance is providedMechanical Engineer Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's preferred2+ years of mechanical engineering experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related environments preferredExperience with design software, FEA / CFD tools, or ERP systems is a plusKnowledge of Lean / Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies is desirableMechanical Engineer Physical and Environmental Requirements :
