Essential Duties
and Responsibilities :
Teaching duties include, but are not limited to, supervision of students, grading, lesson planning, and implementation.
General management of the classroom and Lab area.
Committee participation & evening activity supervision.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions :
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Technology Education (#1220) certification to include Grades 6-12, or willingness to complete requirements of the certification program
Technology and engineering-related work experience and willingness to pursue a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching license, or experience-based license in Technology in Technology Education.
Desired Qualifications (pre-certified and / or willingness / ability to pursue) :
Project Lead the Way Certification in one or more of the following areas :
MS Core Skills For Grading and Reporting
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to teach in a hands-on, project-based environment
Ability to facilitate students in problem-solving strategies
Skilled in a computer-based environment
Teaching strengths in integrating Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
Familiarity with safety requirements and certifications needed for a technology education environment
Effective classroom management practices to facilitate learning in a lab environment
Ability to work collaboratively with other Technology & Engineering Ed teachers at both the district and school levels.
Demonstrated commitment to supporting a strong / rigorous curriculum focused on preparing students for relevant technical careers in today's ever-changing workplace.
Demonstrated desire and skills required to design programming and make recommendations for classes that will prepare students for competitive careers after high school.
Experience advising a Career & Technical Student Organization (SkillsUSA).
Training / experience with : incorporating computer technology skills in curriculum, use of inclusion models, working within an instructional team, standards-based assessment and instruction, teaching a diverse student population, and multi-aged groupings.
Demonstrated successful experience in writing curriculum and developing relationships with the business community.
The expectation of continued professional growth and cross-curricular support, and integration
Environmental Adaptability :
Ability to work under general safe and comfortable conditions where exposure to environmental factors is minimal and poses little to no risk of injury.
