Job Description

Our soon-to-be licensed Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Louisiana, is seeking a Fractional Medical Director to join our leadership team. We will be providing primary mental health and substance use disorder treatment, serving adult populations.

Position Details

  • Commitment : ~5 hours per week
  • Format : Virtual or hybrid
  • Status : Part-time independent contractor
  • Compensation : Monthly flat fee

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medical histories
  • Provide medication management in coordination with the clinical treatment team
  • Participate in case reviews and contribute to individualized treatment planning
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and clinical best practices
  • Qualifications

  • MD or DO Psychiatrist, or PMHNP licensed in Louisiana
  • Experience in mental health and substance use disorder treatment preferred
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in a team-based model
  • Ability to work flexibly and autonomously

    Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted license as an MD or DO Psychiatrist, or PMHNP in Louisiana
  • Board certification in Psychiatry (or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in psychiatric care, preferably in PHP / IOP or SUD treatment settings
  • DEA registration in good standing
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric practices for mental health and substance use disorders
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and telehealth platforms
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Understanding of Louisiana regulatory requirements for behavioral health programs
  • Ability to commit approximately 5 hours per week, with flexibility for occasional meetings or urgent consultations
