Applications submitted will remain active for up to two years. Kern Community College District is soliciting applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors. The starting salary range is $67.00 / hour; Hourly rate may vary based on type of assignment and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. Representative Duties

The Bakersfield College Art Department is seeking adjunct faculty to teach introductorily and advanced video production and animation courses. Candidates who are interested in teaching these courses should have knowledge and experience in video production and animation processes including : script writing, storyboarding, lighting for film, cinematography, and video editing. Bakersfield College uses Adobe Creative Cloud software and working knowledge of Premiere Pro and After Effects is preferred. Animation courses are currently taught using Adobe After Effects and Dragonframe; however, the department encourages applications from candidates with experience in Maya as well. Experienced in both video production and animation is not required and classroom assignments will be determined by expertise.

This is for an adjunct pool that will be used to staff assignments at the Bakersfield Community College Main Campus, Delano Campus, Arvin (hub and High School), City Serve, Job Spot, McFarland (adult Learning Center and High School), Shafter (Shafter Learning Center and High School), Southwest Campus, and Wasco (Adult Education Center and High School).This assignment may include teaching at other campus sites, day or evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, distance learning and using multiple teaching methodologies.Other duties include : maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computer and multimedia technology; collegial participation in departmental, college and discipline-specific professional activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience

OR -

Any associate degree and six years of professional experience.

(Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment. )

OR -

The equivalent. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments in the field may be judged as equal to the stated minimum qualifications for these positions.
