General Description :
The Document Control Specialist is responsible for the control of technical documentation supporting the production of finished rubber compounds, rubber and composite-based components and assemblies for solid rocket motors and oxygen breathing hose and life support equipment used in military aviation. This role operates under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager and is integral to sustaining the company’s AS9100-certified quality system.
Working primarily in SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional, the Document Control Specialist serves as the primary functional administrator of the document control vault—ensuring all engineering and quality documentation, including released drawings, specifications, procedures, and supporting documents, are accurately maintained, routed, and archived. The specialist works with finalized formats, such as PDFs of engineering drawings and converted Word or Excel files, ensuring controlled documents are properly approved and stored for release. This position requires strong technical acumen, document configuration awareness, and close collaboration with Engineering, Production, Quality, Program Management, and Supply Chain. The specialist also serves as a support resource during internal and external audits.
Primary Responsibilities :
Education and Experience Requirements :
Associate degree in business, engineering technology, or related field preferred
SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional including end-user and functional administrator responsibilities
Special Tasks and Focus Areas
Serve as the functional administrator of SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional—managing vault structure, metadata, approval workflows, and lifecycle states
Conduct training for new users on document control practices and SOLIDWORKS PDM system access
Contract review and summarization of customer specifications and requirements
Review contract to identify administrative information, packaging and marking requirements, and quality assurance provisions.
Completes configuration worksheets within a timely manner
Transcribe and format engineering content into standardized templates; proofread for spelling, grammar, and layout consistency to ensure accuracy and compliance with documentation standards
