MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

All Qualifications must be met consistently and continuously

• Graduation from a school accredited to offer the approved Psychiatric Technician educational program or accredited to offer the approved License Vocational Nurse educational program.
• Current license from the Board of Psychiatric Technicians PT and Vocational Nursing LVN.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with medical and behavioral health staff and other service providers both orally and in writing.
• Able to work proficiently on computers and computer based information systems.
• Must have the willingness and ability to actively and effectively engage psychologically distressed clients and maintain a respectful and responsive attitude while providing therapeutically sound services.
• Demonstrated on-going emotional stability good judgment and effective teamwork.
• Must maintain a valid California drivers license and additionally must be insurable under the agencys current auto insurance policies.
• The employee must be able to quickly navigate several flights of stairs several times a day. The employee must be able to lift and / or move up to 20 pounds multiple times during each work addition the employee must be able to assist individuals in exiting the facility in the case of an emergency and to perform CPR and standard Medical First Aid procedures to persons in prone positions at ground level.
• Basic word processing skills; maintain computer requirements of the City and County of San Francisco Community Behavioral Health Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

The PTs / LVNs primary responsibility is to provide consistently effective clinical services behavioral health and physical to the clients of the Urgent Care Center. This includes the direct provision of psychiatric medical and pharmacy services; assistance if needed with medical behavioral health and pharmacy services for the Residential Treatment Program; establishing and maintaining effective relations with clients client families and support people and with the general community; and maintaining a comfortable safe non-institutional ambiance in the program. Services must be provided in a manner that is safe and helpful for clients staff and the general community and that evidences a non-institutional character that is congruent with Social Rehabilitation values and principles.

Basic Job Skills :

A. Provide direct behavioral and nursing care services to clients of the urgent care program.
