The Role
The Manager, IT ERP Systems is responsible for supporting and optimizing business processes across the Human Capital Management System (HCMS) and Financial division by managing Oracle ERP and third-party systems. This role will ensure seamless integration with external vendors and drives operational efficiency across key departments including Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Procurement, and Inventory.
Starting Salary : $130 - $149K
Responsibilities
- Leads the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Applications team in functional and technical aspects of application development, implementation, and support across Finance, Procurement, Inventory Management, and Human Capital Management System (HCMS) portfolios.
- Ensures continuity and stability of operations for all supported modules.
- Collaborates with business stakeholders to set clear expectations for requested enhancements.
- Creates detailed technical specifications for all enhancement requests.
- Provides hands-on support for Oracle EBS modules, including troubleshooting configuration and technical issues.
- Delivers both detailed and summarized updates to upper management and escalates project delays in a timely manner.
- Maintains transparency and alignment between developers and business teams regarding enhancement progress.
- Provides post-implementation support and implements approved changes.
- Ensures timely resolution of helpdesk tickets; triages issues and gathers relevant information before escalating to developers.
- Stays current with ERP application capabilities and best practices in Finance, Procurement, Inventory Management, and HCMS.
- Evaluates released patches and new functionalities, and presents recommendations to senior management and business stakeholders.
- Develops, implements, and maintains system user access procedures in partnership with business teams, ensuring audit compliance.
- Promotes adherence to organizational methodology across supported applications.
- Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for supported modules in a centralized repository.
- Enhances documentation templates (., requirement specs, technical specs, unit testing) and ensures all production deployments follow established change management workflows.
- Provides training and support to business users for newly implemented functionalities.
- Builds strong relationships with business teams and stakeholders by providing regular status updates on change requests, application enhancements, ticket SLA performance, requisitions, vendor deliverables, and capital project progress, ensuring transparency and accountability across projects.
- Collaborates with Infrastructure, Application, and other IT teams to ensure successful execution of joint projects.
- Identifies areas for operational efficiency and implements improvements in collaboration with business partners.
- Manages and monitors the performance of direct reports, including goal setting, performance reviews, staffing recommendations, and professional development; balances support and development priorities for direct reports.
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong hands-on experience in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) application development technologies, including Oracle Reports, BI Publisher, Oracle Forms, Oracle Workflow, and Application Management Environment (AME).
- Experience with Oracle E-Business ERP system, version R12.2.10 or higher.
- Familiarity with and experience in key modules and their integrations within the E-Business Suite, particularly in Finance, Procurement, Inventory, and Human Capital Management (HCMS),
- including AP, AR, FA, GL, Purchasing, iProcurement, iSupplier, Sourcing, Procard, Inventory, MRP, WIP, ASCP, OGA, Projects, Property Manager, Treasury, HR, Payroll, Benefits, and SelfService.
- Proficient in querying Oracle databases using PL / SQL and Oracle SQL.
- Strong understanding of system integrations and data flows across ERP modules and third-party systems.
- Familiarity with budgeting software such as Tagetik and maintenance / asset tracking systems like Trapeze EAM.
- Solid understanding of financial, procurement, and HR standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Experience serving as a functional team lead or project manager on Oracle ERP initiatives, including upgrades, new functionality rollouts, and HCMS module implementations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve ERP system, interface, and technical issues.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with business users and software vendors to resolve issues and implement solutions.
- Knowledge of IT standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- Effective interpersonal skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Ability to assess business needs and recommend timely, practical solutions or workarounds.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, perform under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of the transit industry, public sector operations, or prior experience with transit IT systems is a plus.
- Understanding of HCMS modules : HR, Payroll, Benefits and related modules
Education
Experience
Degree : Bachelor’s Degree Required, Graduate Degree preferred.
Years : 6 years of experience.
Field : Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
Field : 6 years of related professional experience : with at lest 2 years of management or project management experience.
