Salary : POSITION PURPOSE :

The CNC Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Manager with all aspects of the organizations machine shop operations including safety, quality, meeting production demands and overseeing the production of machined parts in a manufacturing environment.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Prioritize Machine Shop activities to meet production schedule and other corporate requirements that all work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure the machines are running efficiently and that the parts produced meet the required specifications.
  • Manage the team of machinists and make certain they are working safely, efficiently and following company safety procedures.
  • Train all machinists for proper use of equipment.
  • Schedule work, order materials, and maintain inventory levels for the machine shop.
  • Maintain the machines to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Use operational systems to improve quality and productivity to ensure all quality standards are met and that all parts are inspected before they are sent to assembly.
  • Work within system to promote and achieve continuous improvement and cycle time reductions.
  • Coordinate and confirm proper documentation is completed for training.
  • Certify systematical transactions are completed correctly and / or correct as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS :

The CNC Machine Shop Supervisor must have a strong knowledge of machining processes and equipment, as well as experience in managing a team of machinists. They should also have excellent communication skills and be able to work well under pressure.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Excellent planning and organization, project management and time management skills.

Excellent working knowledge of machining procedures, inventory control, and total quality management applications. Knowledge and / or experience with Business Central is a plus.

Associate degree or education / experience equivalent with 6-10 years operations experience in machining and / or manufacturing environment.
