About the Company :

NLign Analytics provides unique, patented software-based solutions used in the manufacture and maintenance of aircraft to capture, organize, and visualize detailed structural inspection and repair data, creating structural digital twins of each aircraft in the fleet. The NLign software solution is currently used in aerospace manufacturing applications to improve first pass yield and increase manufacturing rate. In addition, NLign is used within the US military to improve structural maintenance processes to reduce costs and improve aircraft availability and is recognized as a critical component of their thread / twin strategies. NLign’s uniqueness is in its ability to organize data by aligning it to 3D structural models. This interactive 3D environment has been demonstrated to drive improvements throughout an organization, including improving inspection processes, quality engineering analysis, and material review board processes. About the Role :

NLign Analytics is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to perform innovative research in state-of-the-art AI / ML technologies, particularly in Generative AI and Large Language Models. The role involves developing novel prototype AI / ML capabilities and supporting incorporation into NLign Analytics products. The successful candidate will need to perform independent research, report findings, and make recommendations to NLign management.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Perform research into applications of AI / ML for the NLign product and internal processes
  • Survey, evaluate, and make recommendations on state-of-the-art AI / ML models, frameworks, tools, and processes
  • Develop AI / ML prototypes and support integration into NLign Analytics products
  • Effectively communicate status updates, and other important information, with the team and group leader.
  • Gives effective feedback to others; contributes to the writing of project updates and final reports.
  • Coordinate with teammates and users to instantiate research concepts in efficient, modular, and well-documented software.
  • Execution of research projects according to a project schedule.
  • Assist in writing proposals and general business capture activities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the fields of Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, or Statistics.
  • Previous Machine Learning experience either in an academic or professional setting. We are open to new graduates or seasoned professionals.
  • Applicant must be eligible to receive a U.S. Security Clearance which at a minimum requires applicant to be a US Citizen. See : Executive Order 12968  indicates U.S. Citizenship requirement to obtain a security clearance.
  • Experience with Python and Git.
  • Ability to independently research and learn new concepts, tools, and methodologies.
  • Strong capability to distill key takeaways from unfamiliar topics and effectively share knowledge with team members and stakeholders.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience using Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Experience with agentic workflows.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (Pytorch, TensorFlow, MXNET).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience C++, C#, Java, and / or JavaScript.
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Experience with Computer Vision
