Position Summary

The Utility & Energy Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing complex utility contracts and power purchase agreements (PPAs). This role ensures compliance, cost-effectiveness, and long-term value in support of the organization’s current and future energy & natural gas needs. The Manager will play a critical role in aligning contractual obligations with upcoming expansion and resiliency mandates, while fostering strategic relationships with utility providers and energy partners.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For :

Successfully negotiate tariff rates, power purchase agreements and / or energy infrastructure contracts in regulated and open markets for electric and natural gas utilities.

Develop automated tools to track and manage utility expense, PPA performance, and other utility related KPI.

Manage procurement of Power, Natural Gas, and RECs to support the needs of the US Based Semiconductor operations.

Review energy projects, technical designs and contracts with utilities and contractors.

Interact with Samsung Austin Semiconductors parent companies and affiliates to assure alignment with global energy strategies and commitments.

Analyze and interpret energy generation data including virtual PPAs, green tariffs, and wholesale energy market data.

Build and manage compliance programs for energy portfolios.

Develop relationships with key industry stakeholders such as utilities, renewable project developers, the EPA, and regional power planning agencies.

Represent SAS to key stakeholders, external and internal, to communicate SAS’s policies and stance on sustainability topics, serving as point of contact and knowledge center.

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s What You’ll Bring to Samsung :

Bachelor's Degree (BA / BS) in Energy Management / Engineering / Business / Technology / Information Systems or similar field.

7+ years of experience in energy / electric utilities – compliance, regulatory, asset / contract management, operations.

3+ years of experience with renewable energy power purchase agreements and utility scale renewable project development required.

3+ years of experience in program or project management role successfully managing transactions - supplier management, contract management, or managing commercial relationships with vendors or customers preferred.

The current base salary range for this role is between $98,830 - $192,710. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
