Responsible for supporting engineering development of laser-illuminated display systems. The successful candidate will have a proven track record assisting engineers with lasers, projectors, and / or other optical systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assemble, align, and test optical systems as directed by engineers.

Conduct measurements and optimize performance of laser and laser-illumination projector systems as directed by engineers.

Follow written procedures.

Help troubleshoot hardware failures and other issues.

Help maintain documentation as required.

Clearly communicate problems to the rest of the development group.

Keep labs clean and orderly.

Education, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required

At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.

Familiarity with the safe use of high-power laser systems.

Familiarity with tools and shop equipment.

Detail-oriented fabrication skills including excellent manual dexterity.

Methodical and detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.

Able to work closely with engineers to achieve goals.

Great people skills, including the ability to collaborate successfully with team members from optical engineering, mechanical engineering, and other engineering groups.

Ability to multitask, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Position is based in San Francisco.
