Assistant Deputy Director
This position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing one or more major specialized public Social Services programs and assisting the Child Welfare Services Deputy Director in division administration. As an Assistant Deputy Director, you will serve as a member of the department's management team.
This class is characterized by the responsibility for the management of one or more social services programs and for assisting the Deputy Director in planning and organizing overall operations. This class is distinguished from other management positions in the department in that incumbents manage large or multiple programs through subordinate program managers. This class is distinguished from the Deputy Director in that the latter is responsible for management of an entire division and reports directly to the Department Director.

Possession of strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire the workforce towards a mutual vision
Ability to manage projects from beginning to end, while meeting program objectives and adapting to changes as they arise
Proven ability and desire to work in a collaborative fashion, promoting teamwork whenever possible
Experience managing multiple programs in a fast-paced environment
Ability to think creatively and promote system efficiency
Experience working with local and state agencies, including local community organizations
Requirements
Experience
Five years of progressively responsible experience in the delivery of community Social Services that includes direct program management and supervision of professional staff coupled with experience in public administration including budget preparation, program planning / evaluation and supervision.
Education
A Master's degree in Social Work is required from an accredited college or university.
Special Requirements
A valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker license issued by the State Board of Behavioral Science Examiners is required.
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver's license may be required.
