Ensures that all assets follow all County, State and Federal standards, regulations, and specifications. Operates different types of specialized heavy equipment used to perform construction and road maintenance projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Verifies the accuracy of the location and ownership of assets.
• Responsible for documenting and assessing all current and increasing (future) lane miles of concrete roadways within the Precinct Boundaries.
• Assists in monitoring traffic patterns and traffic control standards.
• Operates different types of heavy equipment to perform asset replacement.
• Input and analyzes data with use of Microsoft Office and Cartegraph software.
• Assists in establishing the replacement / maintenance schedule for all assets within the Precinct Boundaries.
• Maintains the asset inventory data base which consist of three (3) different types and six (6) different sizes of culverts.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

NOTE : You must fill out the work history and education sections of application to show you have years of experience / education as required by hiring department or be disqualified.

High School Diploma or GED.

Three (3) full-time years related experience.

Two (2) full-time years sign installation experience preferred.

Knowledgeable of MUTCD Specifications, ADA Specifications and Storm Water Management.

Possess a working knowledge of concrete and asphalt pavement maintenance.

Must have a valid Class “C” driver license.

Must obtain a Texas Class “A” CDL license with tanker endorsement within eight (8) months of hire.

Knowledge of computer programs, magnetic locators, smart levels, and digital measuring wheels.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, climb, stoop, lift, push and pull.
