Overview
LPN with the EVMS Ear Nose and Throat Surgeons. The LPN will be responsible for assisting the physicians that are treating patients for allergy testing and ongoing immunotherapy; by directing allergy shot patient flow obtaining and documenting necessary history and vital signs performing assigned procedures and providing patient education.
Responsibilities
Perform allergy testing pulmonary function screening (if applicable) and assist with immunotherapy preparation according to established protocols.
Administer allergy injections monitor patients for reactions and respond appropriately to adverse events including following emergency procedures.
Educate patients about allergy testing procedures immunotherapy schedules medication instructions environmental control measures proper use of epinephrine auto-injectors and follow-up requirements.
Adhere to infection prevention guidelines medication safety standards and emergency response protocols. Ensure proper handling labeling and storage of allergy extracts and clinical materials.
Assist with scheduling follow-up visits coordinating immunotherapy appointments and managing patient flow to ensure timely and efficient clinic operations. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
