SOC Operator
Summary : The SOC Operator of Strata's Security Operations Center (SOC) is tasked with employing best practices to identify, analyze, and manage all incidents that may impact Strata Clean Energy, the brand, or employees. The ideal candidate will be a proficient problem solver, possess critical thinking skills, and demonstrate attention to detail. This is an excellent part-time position for those with the required skills. The schedule for this role is from 4p to 12a, Monday through Friday.
This role is a primary operator position for monitoring the company's electronic surveillance systems that cover numerous large-scale construction projects and energy production sites; it entails effectively communicating incident-related information to leadership using established protocols. The SOC Operator will perform all duties within the SOC and be responsible for monitoring cameras and alarms, dispatching calls via telephone and radio, operating access control technology, along with providing general assistance where needed. The SOC Operator will support the headquarters security team and field security staff in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from both crisis and non-crisis incidents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage and virtually respond appropriately to routine and emergency calls by performing notifications and dispatches of activated alarms and designated incidents, such as life-safety incidents (medical, safety, natural disasters, etc.) and events requiring the services of ERT, police, firefighters, and EMS personnel
- Ability to stay on high alert throughout the entire shift
- Maintain daily activity log including records of communications and events, dispatching, tracking, and notification of persons visiting remote sites
- Promptly notify and submit reports to the security team regarding incident reports related to crimes, injuries, activated alarms, etc.
- Perform routine system checks to ensure all-access control, CCTV, and other security systems are working properly
- Evaluate external incidents that may impact Strata employees or offices and escalate accordingly to security management
- Use best practices to communicate and disseminate information to security management and key partners using established protocol and communication channels
- Effectively manage and resolve sensitive situations while maintaining confidentiality and information security practices; such sensitive information may include by is not limited to personal employee issues, investigations, public relations incidents, or emergency personnel contact information
- Recommend improvements and guidance to security management

Associate's degree or 2+ years of equivalent work experience in the military, law enforcement, government, or corporate securityPrior experience in a security operations center or similar is highly preferredExperience with security systems including alarm monitoring, electronic access control, and CCTVNote : Current NC Guard Card is NOT required for this security position.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment : Work is completed 100% in Strata's Durham, North Carolina headquarters. This is a sole / lone operator position. Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
