Sign-on bonuses are available for eligible full-time positions : $7,500 for Direct Care Respiratory Therapists with at least one year of experience ($5,000 for those with less experience), along with $1,800 student tax-free loan repayment annually. Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This position does not involve management duties and reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the American Medical Association or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or a senior student graduating within three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Candidates must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or eligible for such licensure, or a senior student graduating in the next three months. BLS certification is required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Employees hired before June 2016 may hold Certified Respiratory Therapist credentials. Those hired after June 2016 must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at the Registered Therapist cut score and take the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation; failure to pass may result in termination.
NRP and PALS are required prior to independent work in the NICU and PICU.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team, with strong communication, computer, and organizational skills required.
