Introduction
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) serves as one of the largest revenue sources for the State of Maryland supporting important state programs and services including education public health and safety human resources and the addition to generating revenue from the sale of lottery products the MLGCA is also responsible for the oversight of the states casino gaming program providing direction and guidance to its casino partners on financial security regulatory and licensing procedures for the facilities. The Agency also regulates Sports Wagering Daily Fantasy Sports and Electronic Bingo as well as Instant Ticket Lottery Machines which are located at almost 90 Veterans posts. Gaming in Maryland is a dynamic and growing business that operates around the clock 365 days of the year.
IT Computer Operators are considered essential personnel and in the event of a state of emergency are expected to report to their assigned duty stations.
After an approximate 2 to 3 month training period the candidate will be assigned a permanent night shift.

POSITION DUTIES
The Operations Team supports the game operations by participating in all draw games including but not limited to the multi-state games such as Powerball / Double Play Mega Millions and Cash4Life as well as in-state games such as the Pick 3 Pick 4 Pick 5 Multi-Match Cashpop and Bonus Match 5. The Operations Team utilizes the Internal Control System (ICS) to verify game and report integrity and to balance and report the sales and prize winning ticket data and payouts. They also monitor the running of the ICS environment and report any issues to their supervisor and to the Systems Administrator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.
Education : Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience : Two years of experience operating multipurpose multi-tasking computer systems.
Notes :
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry word processing or maintaining informationon a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute fifteen credit hours in computer operation at an accredited college or universityfor one year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in ComputerSystem Operations classifications or Computer SystemOperations specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be clear and specific information on your application regardingyour qualifications.
1. The hired candidate will be required to work a non-standard five-day work shift which will include evenings overnights weekends and holidays. The work schedule will be 5 : 30 pm - 2 : 00 am.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicantswho possess the following preferred qualification(s).Include clear and specific information on your application regardingyour qualifications.
1. Experience working without direct or immediate supervisor support.
2. Experience comparing and balancing numbers between various financial reporting systems.
3. Possess a minimum of fifteen credits in computer operation or are currently working towards an IT or related field college degree.
