Position Summary

Arizona Tile is currently seeking a Controller who will be a key member of the team, responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations across our multi-location business. This role requires a hands-on, strategic thinker who can manage complex financial systems while supporting the company's growth and family-oriented culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage all company treasury activity.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain accounting systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-location or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with ERP / accounting systems and financial software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, family-oriented business environment.
  • Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Epicor ERP background.
  • Sales and Use tax experience preferably Avalara history.
  • Tax experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
