Position : Controller
Location : Riverside, CA
We’re currently partnering with a state-of-the-art corrugated manufacturing facility in Riverside , CA to find a highly skilled and hands-on Controller . This leadership role will drive both financial performance and operational efficiency, working cross-functionally with executive leadership and plant-level management.
The ideal candidate brings deep financial expertise within a manufacturing setting, a proactive approach to controls and compliance, and the ability to lead and mentor accounting staff while remaining involved in the day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of accounting transactions and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Lead the development and implementation of internal control systems—both systematic and administrative—to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits; maintain effective relationships with auditors and ensure findings are resolved.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts by analyzing production KPIs and financial trends.
- Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and documentation standards to meet regulatory and audit requirements.
- Ensure tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions and manage incentive program reporting.
- Supervise and support accounting team members, fostering a collaborative and efficient environment.
- Monitor and report financial covenants to banking partners and executive stakeholders.
- Collaborate with IT and corporate finance teams to protect financial systems and information.
- Perform variance analysis and support cost control initiatives by identifying inefficiencies.
- Assist in strategic planning and capital expenditure processes as part of the leadership team.
- Manage cash flow, accounts receivable, credit exposure, and insurance programs for designated accounts.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and reconcile key balance sheet and inventory accounts.
- Support the month-end close process by preparing and reviewing journal entries.
- Contribute to daily KPI reporting and periodic audits of production reporting accuracy.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.Minimum 5 years leading an accounting or finance department in a manufacturing environment.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience using ERP software.Strong Excel proficiency and familiarity with general Microsoft Office applications.Experience managing credit insurance and cash flow in a B2B environment.Key Competencies :
