Responsibilities
Fit, tack, and weld stainless steel components according to detailed drawings (channels, brackets, angles, sheathing, assemblies, and sub-assemblies)Ensure all dimensions and welds meet specified standards and tolerancesSet up welding equipment and prepare materials for weldingAnalyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout and welding operationsPerform welding in all positions (6G) using G.T.A.W. process on stainless steelOperate a thumb control on a TIG hand welder and feed wire simultaneously (2+ years of experience preferred)Demonstrate proficiency in MIG welding (2+ years of experience preferred)Polish and clean weld jointsRead and interpret weld symbols and blueprintsPass ASME / PED weld tests, including 6G pipe test and vertical down pulse welds within approximately one weekCalculate circumferences and fabricate equipment accuratelyInspect grooves, angles, and gap allowances using precision measuring instrumentsPerform NDT / Liquid Penetrant testing on electro-polished vessel weldsBevel materials to facilitate tack welding and plate assemblyOperate overhead crane and / or forkliftMaintain safe and proper operation of shop equipmentUse body buffers and right-angle grinders safely and effectivelyWork in confined spaces and varying temperature environmentsRecommend improvements and contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiativesExecute other tasks as assignedAbility to travel when requiredRequirements
High School Graduate or equivalentAbility to perform basic math equations and read a tape measureStrong problem-solving and verbal communication skillsProficient in using hand tools and basic fabrication toolsSelf-motivated and detail-orientedProficient in reading blueprintsMaintain a clean and safe working environmentExperience with Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean / Six Sigma is a plusTypical work is in a manufacturing environment or customer’s siteCompany Background
