Narvar is growing! We are seeking an entrepreneurial and hands-on Director of Engineering to lead our engineering efforts within the Shopify ecosystem. This is a critical leadership role where you will drive the technical direction and execution of our Shopify-native experiencesbuilding best-in-class solutions for some of the largest and most innovative merchants on the platform.

You will partner closely with Product, Design, and GTM teams to scale our established Shopify applications to the next level, cementing Narvar's position as the market leader in post-purchase experiences. This is a high-impact, player-coach role for an engineering leader who thrives on building teams, shipping high-quality software, and mentoring engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment.

This role reports to the CTO.

Day-to-day

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team focused on delivering world-class Shopify-native solutions that delight both merchants and end consumers.
• Translate business and product requirements into clear technical roadmaps and engineering execution plans.
• Partner closely with Product Management to define the technical strategybuilding scalable, intelligent, and secure integrations leveraging platform APIs, webhooks, and workflows.
• Inspire, mentor, and develop your team, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Drive modern engineering practices including CI / CD, automated testing, and observability, ensuring frequent, high-quality releases.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, UX, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure a seamless experience across the Shopify merchant lifecycle.
• Partner with Recruiting to attract, hire, and retain exceptional, diverse engineering talent.
• Provide production support for key merchant experiences, proactively improving reliability, scalability, and performance.

Narvar Pay Range $230,000 - $300,000 CAD
