This top-secret client is looking for a product manager with a background in a cloud-based B2C or B2B2C consumer tech role for a game-changing new location-based mobile app that aims to revolutionize a global market.

The demands of this job are a grid in which product development, design / UX, engineering, data and quality assurance intersect with mobile and logistics. But the real emphasis (and challenge) for this one is the human touch : user experience is the first and biggest metric. So a background in data is good, but consumer-side experience is essential to get a seat at this table of machine-learning AI.

This lofty undertaking will require the product manager to clearly outline all benchmarks and define the strategy to achieve them in conjunction with the program manager. This means prioritizing must-have features behind must-have-NOW ones and discerning necessary changes that adhere to, and hone, the ultimate goal : hitting the launch date with enough product in place to make users happy.

What Success Looks Like

The service-level agreements that make this app’s reputation must be flawless, every single time. If users can’t rely on Project X to connect providers with buyers in the clutch, they won’t waste a minute before deleting it. Give them an interface they can’t live without it, and keep them hooked.

A computer science degree (or early career background) is just the start. Your analytical talents can chart a course beyond the horizon, but you’re flexible enough to course-correct along the way. You thrive on user feedback and can communicate it to engineering and product design teams to incorporate improvements that weren’t originally planned. You’ve also managed a team before — including remotely — and possibly even other product managers.

You know your way around scalable platform tools, from customer relationship management to global CS, and the portal management where they meet. Your statistics background means your products and services never fail.
