Job Title
General Purpose : Performs a variety of skilled duties related to the preparation, serving, and delivery of food and food items for senior citizens, assuring compliance with the guidelines and standards established by the Area Agency on Aging, Dietician and State Nutritionist for Aging Services.
Supervision Received : Works under the general supervision of the Senior Nutrition Site Coordinator.
Supervision Exercised : None.
Essential Functions :
- Check the home delivery list to get a meal count for the day.
- Help the cooks get meals packaged (when needed) and load meals in the delivery vehicle.
- Drive delivery vehicles on pre-scheduled routes, in a timely manner to maintain safe food temperatures.
- Document last meal temperature on temperature log.
- Take a cash box for donations. Upon returning, count money and sign the receipt with the site manager.
- Perform general routine maintenance as needed and daily inspections on the delivery vehicle.
- Document fuel purchases, oil purchases and maintenance of the delivery vehicle.
- Clean exterior and interior of vehicle, including cleaning and disinfecting the heated truck compartments as needed.
- Document mileage and meal count after each delivery run.
- Obtain and maintain proper "Food Handlers Permit" and "Serv-Safe" certifications.
- May assist in meal preparation on an as needed basis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Recognize and act on emergency and medical situations with seniors.
Minimum Qualifications :
