Security Supervisor

Nestled in San Franciscos Excelsior neighborhood on a nine-acre campus the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (SFCJL) is a center of excellence in providing a continuum of care. This includes the Frank Residences offering luxurious assisted living and memory care services; the Jewish Home and Rehabilitation Center featuring long-term skilled nursing short-term rehabilitation and an acute psychiatric unit specialized in mental healthcare for older adults over age 55; and the Jewish Home and Senior Living Foundation.

Position Overview

The Security Supervisor assists the Security Manager in overseeing the security operations at the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (SFCJL) which includes the Jewish Home and Rehab (JHRC) and Frank Residences. This position supports the protection and safety of the Frank Residences and JHRC residents visitors staff and property ensuring a secure environment against potential threats such as fire theft vandalism and other emergencies. The Security Supervisor plays a key role in security operations incident investigations and staff training.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist in the development and implementation of security policies procedures and training programs.
• Assist in ensuring all staff are trained and prepared for emergencies including active shooters bomb threats fire and other critical events.
• Supervise daily security operations ensuring compliance with established protocols and providing immediate support in emergency situations.
• Manage the security staff schedule and ensure adequate staffing levels are met at all times.
• Support training and staff development. Assist with performance reviews for staff as needed.
• Assist with conducting interviews and orientation for new security staff.
• Ensure security personnel complete Daily Activity Reports (DAR) and Supplemental Security Reports accurately.
• Help prepare and deliver Monthly Fire Drill Training including practical demonstrations on fire extinguisher use and exit protocols.
• Assist in the coordination of facility-wide security drills and emergency action planning.
• Provide support during incidents ensuring that all actions are in line with campus security policies.
• Help oversee the Employee / Visitor and Resident badge program ensuring proper access and troubleshooting issues related to access control systems.
• Work closely with the Security Manager and other departments to ensure security and safety protocols are followed consistently.
• Collaborate with law enforcement emergency services and other external partners to maintain safety standards.
• Assist in conducting regular audits of security operations and making improvements where necessary.

Other Duties

• Participate in meetings seminars and workshops related to safety and security management.
• Provide support to the Facility Team as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned to maintain a secure and safe campus environment.

Personal Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required associates degree preferred.
• At least 5-6 years of experience as a Security Guard / Officer or in a comparable security role.
• Experience with security and emergency management systems including CCTV card access and visitor management systems.
• Experience in conducting training and leading large training sessions
• Proven ability to lead coach and develop a security team.
• Experience working in a senior care skilled nursing facility (SNF) or healthcare facility is preferred.
• Excellent verbal written and presentation communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel) and familiarity with security management software.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively in a sensitive adaptive environment.
• Ability to interact professionally and persuasively with residents staff families and external partners.
