Experienced Veterinary Technician (Unlicensed – Still Awesome)

Location : Andover Animal Hospital | Andover, MA

Pay range : $18-24 (depending on experience)

Who we are :

Andover Animal Hospital is a full-service, 10-doctor, AAHA-accredited animal hospital in Andover, MA. We care for dogs, cats, birds, pocket pets, and exotics (yes, really — lizards, snakes, rabbits, and the occasional sugar glider who thinks it’s a flying squirrel on Red Bull). If you like a little unpredictability in your patient roster and don’t flinch at feathers or scales, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll actually be doing :

You’ll be a true tech — not just a glorified restrainer or treat dispenser. We believe in letting skilled team members use their skills. You'll work alongside our doctors to provide compassionate care to a whole zoo of species and be empowered to take the lead on things like :

Diagnostic sample collection

Venipuncture & IV catheter placement (bonus if you don’t need to tape your own fingers together)

Radiology (including exotic critters with very strong opinions about staying still)

Anesthesia and surgical monitoring

Pain management and patient comfort

Dental radiographs, cleanings, and possibly identifying what that dog just ate

General exotic-wrangling finesse and MacGyver-level problem solving

Who you are :

You’ve got 2+ years of experience in a veterinary setting

You’re not licensed, but you’ve got the knowledge, instincts, and hustle of someone who is

You’re cool under pressure and can handle a minor chaos spiral without sacrificing your snack stash

You’re adaptable, collaborative, and you laugh at least once per shift

You care about patients, clients, your team, and maybe naming every orange cat “Cheddar”
