Network Security Engineer

This role supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which is responsible for ensuring the safety of 45,000 flights and 3 million passengers traversing over 28 million miles of U.S. controlled airspace every day. A critical part of that mission is to support technical network systems which connect air traffic information across the FAA's National Airspace System and with other government agencies.

This position will be located onsite at the FAA's Air Route Traffic Control Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

Position Summary :  As a Network Security Engineer, you will be a vital part of our client's team, responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our network infrastructure. Join them and be at the forefront of safeguarding our network against cyber threats. This role will support the FAA's NAS Defense Program Office.  This position is 100% on-site in Anchorage, Alaska; they provide relocation assistance.

Position Functions & Skills :

• Plan, design, and evaluate new and existing computer network systems and services, with a focus on cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Manage enterprise-level IP networks, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation, ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53 and 800-171 standards.
• Apply routing and switch design principles to optimize network performance while addressing NIST requirements.
• Design, implement, manage, and support enterprise-level IP networks to meet FAA's operational requirements, incorporating cybersecurity frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address network infrastructure needs while considering cybersecurity implications.
• Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, NIST standards, and other cybersecurity requirements in network design and implementation.
