The Patient Referral Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and processing referrals from Primary Care Providers (both internal and external) to facilitate access to specialist care. This position involves building, submitting, processing, and scheduling referrals to our internal and external network specialty providers.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all required documentation is completed, requesting additional information as necessary, cancelling referrals that do not meet the established criteria, and forwarding referrals for medical review when questions arise. You will also determine whether referrals meet the criteria for outsourcing or overflow. Although most of the work is performed on a computer, it involves significant paperwork handling, including faxing, scanning, and multiple telephone communications. You will have direct face-to-face contact with patients as well.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Building new referrals from network providers.
• Reviewing referrals to ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
• Requesting additional information when required.
• Cancelling referrals that do not meet criteria or lack necessary information within a set timeframe; forwarding to medical review if needed.
• Accepting referrals and assessing whether they meet outsourcing or overflow criteria.
• Handling paperwork, faxing, and scanning, alongside multiple telephone calls.
• Performing other duties as assigned responsible and adhering to a primarily sedentary desk job role.

The hourly pay for this role ranges from $17.74 to $31.63, based on full-time employment and various factors including local labor markets, education, and experience. We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
