OrthoIndy Hospital Northwest, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, provides outpatient care and inpatient care, with 10 operating rooms, 2 procedure rooms and a 42-bed inpatient unit for patients undergoing more invasive procedures, such as disc replacement, spinal fusion or total hip and knee joint replacement. Other services include an urgent care, clinics, pre-op clinic, imaging and physical therapy. General statement of duties : The Physical Therapy Technician provides support to the Physical Therapy Department by assisting in the set-up of treatments, clean-up, supervision and transporting of patients to and from the department. Essential duties :

• Participants in the supervision and implementation of therapeutic exercise routines under the supervision of the Physical Therapist and following prescribed course of exercises by the therapist.
• Responsible for the application of ice and heat as well as removal of modalities including electrical stimulation after treatment.
• Responsible for transporting patients from their patient rooms to the therapy department to receive their treatment by the Physical Therapist.
• Performs wheelchair transfers safely.
• Recognizes changes in patient status and reports to the treating Physical Therapist and / or nursing staff.
• Participates in the Therapy Department quality control internal audits.
• Responsible for organizing patient treatment times with the treating Physical Therapist.
• Responsible for organizing, stocking, and cleaning the work area.

Requirements : Associate's degree in related field required. No prior experience required; 1-2 years of Physical Therapy (PT) Technician experience preferred. OrthoIndy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
