POSITION : Driver
TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR : Engagement Director
DEPARTMENT : Resident Engagement
STATUS : Non-exempt / Hourly
SUMMARY
The Driver is responsible for transporting residents in a safe and timely manner to doctor appointments, scenic drives and special outings.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university
- Must have prior experience within the senior care industry
- Must successfully clear a background check, TB skin test or x-ray, and health screening
- Current CPR certification
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Current certificate of training for successful completion of the five (5) hour initial fire safety training provided by the Rules and Regulations of the Georgia Safety Fire Commissioner
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Transports passengers safely to and from the Orchard communityLoads and unload wheelchairs and walkers from vehiclesAssists passengers in or out of vehiclesMakes non-passenger trips as requested by supervisorConducts inspection of vehicle before and after trips and outingsMaintains driver's log-bookMaintains an organized travel scheduleEnsures that vehicles have enough gas and are always ready for useTracks, reports and arranges for vehicle repairs as approved by supervisorUpdates monthly mileage recordsAdheres to safety requirements while driving and transportation passengersComplies with traffic law regulations at all timesCOMPETENCIES :
