Summary

The Instructional Designer will support the area of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). This exempt position will report to the Instructional Design Manager in the Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role : 3 days per week in the office / 2 days per week remote. The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,000 - $78,500 (commensurate with related experience). Applicants must submit a portfolio of work for consideration.

Responsibilities

Develop design documents and / or storyboards and scripts outlining instructional objectives, methods, and assessment plans; design learning interactions for presentations and webinars in consultation with the team.

Execute instructional design plans, using visual design and multimedia development skills, to create engaging and effective learning experiences.

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design, develop and deliver fully online and blended courses, and technology-enhanced instructional materials focused on learner-centered experiences and optimal use of instructional resources.

Work with the project management lead to ensure that quality deliverables are produced to meet project timelines.

Required Education And / or Experience

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

At least 2-4 years of professional experience as an instructional designer.

Experience in e-learning development, video editing, and building courses in a learning management system.

Experience with Articulate is strongly preferred.

Website editing / development knowledge is preferred; experience with both in-person and online learning development.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
