Drive revenue growth through the development and execution of strategic value creation initiatives (VCIs) and expansion of core product offerings in the X-ray spectroscopy market. This role demands a dynamic, detail-oriented professional capable of seamlessly interfacing with customers, global sales and business development teams, product engineers, R&D, and manufacturing operations.
The successful candidate will serve as a critical technical liaison between the business and its customers, ensuring alignment from product concept through new product introduction (NPI) and market adoption. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to navigate cross-functional teams and deliver high-impact solutions that meet market needs and drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and achieve assigned VCI and core products sales and profitability objectives using project plans and targeted new product introductions.
- Develop and actively manage project specific plans for VCIs and for customer specific prototypes.
- Meet or beat timelines for prototype shipments to customer expectations.
- Use financial metrics to steer projects and to provide support for development of business growth targets.
- Participate in R+D and engineering design reviews.
- The ability to remain current with global trends in industry, currency, politics, and culture are critical to success.
- Facilitate transfer from low volume / prototype production to volume production by standard operations personnel.
- Establish and maintain technical relationships with assigned customers in conjunction with sales, serving as the primary technical contact for these customers.
- Working closely with Finance, Engineering and Operations, develop and maintain standardized and streamlined cost structures.
- Translate voice of the customer into product requirements & manage NP process from initial prototypes through system qualification.
- Develop customer specific technical communication plans with regular follow-up, including travel for face-face discussions, relationship development and technical presentations.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Physics, Material Science, Engineering or related disciplinePh.D. Physics, Material Science, Engineering or related discipline Preferred5+ years experience in X-ray spectroscopy / imaging / microscopy / topography or synchrotrons sector5+ years experience in product management, technical marketing, or applications engineering P referredDeep knowledge of the fundamentals of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopyHigh level computer skills, especially PowerPoint and Project management software.Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural, global team environmentAbility to inspire and mentor direct reports in order to achieve overall business goalsStrong quantitative analysis skills, both engineering and business oriented15-25% Domestic travel required with some potential international travelBenefits
