Position Summary :
The Service Manager is responsible for managing the operations of The House Dining Room. This position reports to the General Manager. An ideal applicant has a keen focus on sales, labor, COGS, team development, and overall guest satisfaction. Actively lead by example, inspire, and teach skills that will elevate the guest experience, the team, and the restaurant.
Manager Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily operations of the restaurant.
- Ensures positive team member experience & guest experience.
- Ensure the financial health of the restaurant in line with the standards, vision, and goals.
- Communicate with property staff to ensure operational needs are met.
- Leads the delivery of great food, great service, and experience to all guests.
- Responsible for building a strong hourly team by sourcing, interviewing, onboarding.
- Create policies and procedures.
- Execute appropriate reports including labor, schedules, beverage COGS, and tip pools.
- Receives and addresses complaints of food and service; speaks to all guests, addressing them by name, where possible.
- Ensures that all side work is completed, and all cleaning of equipment and storage are taken care of according to schedule.
- Lead pre-shift briefings with a focus on service standards, product knowledge, guest experience.
- Nightly closing procedures include but not limited to, processing receipts, ensuring all employee side work is completed.
- Oversee monthly inventory of restaurant such as silverware, glassware, and China.
Position Preferences
2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 4-5 years’ experience in restaurant management.Strong communication, development, and team management skillsExperience in creating operational standards and proceduresWell versed in a variety of sales techniquesStrong planning and organizational skillsProficient in Toast & Microsoft software programsExcellent customer service skillsFull in-depth knowledge of the Alcohol Beverage industry (Wine Beer Spirts other)Ability to manage inventories
