Research Finance Analyst 2 - Cancer Institute

Under the supervision of the Research Finance Manager, provides clinical research financial expertise and support to departments and project teams while following established policies and procedures; ensures clinical trial financial compliance. This position focuses on post-award clinical research finance activity, may support pre-award as needed. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or other related field

Master's degree preferred.

Two years of professional and / or hospital billing, accounting, financial analysis or related experience; or a minimum of four years of professional and / or hospital billing, and / or finance / accounting experience with progressive responsibility.

Experience must reflect progressive responsibility in clinical research finance.

Prefer experience in the following areas : postaward clinical research finance, including proficiency in interpreting and monitoring performance of contracts / budgets / grants, professional or hospital coding (e.g. CPC, RHIT); knowledge of clinical trial billing and compliance guidelines and standards required.

Requires experience with accounting software (e.g. Peoplesoft) and / or electronic medical record systems (EMR).

Experience with Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), preferred.

Experience with accounts payable and / or receivable and payment reconciliation strongly preferred.

Experience with financial report development and monthly reporting, preferred.

Recognizes and adheres to all federal and state rules, regulations, and guidelines related to clinical trial financial compliance.

RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CPC-H, CHC, CHRC or related certification preferred.
