As an Experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will play a crucial role in treating patients of all ages in acute and critical care settings. Your expertise will guide treatment decisions and enhance patient outcomes in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

About the Role :

This position involves performing respiratory therapy procedures as per physician's orders and departmental policies. You will be responsible for monitoring and managing patients on mechanical ventilation, obtaining and analyzing blood gases, and providing education to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform essential respiratory therapy procedures independently, adhering to protocols. - 20%
• Obtain and analyze blood gases accurately. - 10%
• Initiate and manage various types of mechanical ventilation. - 20%
• Manage airways and associated equipment effectively. - 10%
• Document and charge for all procedures accurately; educate patients and families where applicable. - 10%
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, providing complete reports and recommendations. - 10%
• Adhere to infection control standards and perform equipment sterilization. - 10%
• Utilize resources wisely, promoting efficient use of supplies and time.

Supervisory / Management Responsibility :

This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisory or management team.

Minimum Requirements :

Applicants must hold a degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or be eligible for licensure in South Carolina. Recent graduates or seniors nearing graduation are also encouraged to apply.

Required Certifications :

Candidates must possess a South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license or be eligible for it. A BLS certification is required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Specific certifications such as NRP and PALS are necessary for roles in specialized units.

Other Required Skills and Experience :

Effective teamwork, strong communication, and solid organizational skills are essential for success in this position.
