Job Title : Contract Oil & Gas Attorney

Location : Dallas or Houston, TX

Job Type : Contract (Project-based)

Duration : 3–6 months with potential for extension

Compensation : Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience

About the Role :

LHH is assisting an AmLaw law firm seek an experienced Contract Oil & Gas Attorney to support legal team in managing matters related to energy law, mineral rights, and land use. This role is ideal for a self-motivated legal professional with a strong background in oil and gas law, particularly in Texas.

Key Responsibilities :

• Draft, review, and analyze oil and gas leases, contracts, and related agreements.
• Conduct title examinations and prepare title opinions for mineral and surface estates.
• Advise on regulatory compliance with Texas Railroad Commission and other relevant agencies.
• Provide legal guidance on exploration, production, and land acquisition matters.
• Collaborate with landmen, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve legal issues.
• Assist in due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures.
• Manage legal documentation and maintain accurate records.
