    • Primary Responsibilities
    • Successfully mastered all of the job duties and responsibilities of the Tech II position.
    • Demonstrates the ability to work alone or part of a team.
    • Perform maintenance, service, start-up, and commissioning per manufacturer's specifications for light commercial and industrial HVAC equipment up to 25 tons, split systems, make-up air units, exhaust fans, energy recovery ventilators, exhaust fans, unit heaters, unit ventilators, variable air volume terminals, zoning dampers, dampers, actuators, single zone ductless mini split systems, furnaces, fan coils, heat pumps and condensers.
    • Demonstrates and has the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose air flow and water flow issues with some supervision.
    • The ability to complete manufacturer's or company's start-up and commissioning paperwork completely and accurately with some supervision.
    • Ability to read and interpret equipment wiring diagrams and control schematics.
    • Skills to perform final low voltage wiring, controls wiring, controls final tie ins, terminations, temporary and final start-ups with some supervision.
    • Be able to take airflow or water flow measurements and demonstrate the ability to comfort balance an air flow or water flow system with supervision.
    • Demonstrate good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
    • Good working knowledge of installing both soft copper and ACR copper refrigeration piping utilizing proper nitrogen purge and brazing techniques.
    • Ability to perform service and warranty callbacks with some supervision.
    • Ability to complete company required paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
    • Good product knowledge and application skills.
    • Produces quality workmanship while completing projects on time and on budget with few or no callbacks.
    • Good working knowledge of mechanical code, quality control, and safe work practices.
    • Read, interpret, and carry out instructions as called for in blueprints, specifications, sequence of operation instructions, product installation, engineering, and owner's manuals.
    • Must be willing to help train and coach less skilled technicians.
    • Demonstrates the ability to care for, be responsible, use, and interpret company owned diagnostic equipment including but not limited to air hood, pitot tube traverse, hot wire anemometer, duct blaster, volt / ohm meter, amp clamp, manometer, combustion analyzer, reclaim machine, vacuum pump, vacuum gauge, refrigerant gauges, nitrogen regulators, and digital thermometers with some supervision.
    • Listen to, assist, learn from, and pay attention to instructions from supervisors, coordinators, and more experienced personnel.
    • All employees are accountable for safety and health, and are permitted to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the potential hazard may be contained or corrected.

    • GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS :
    • High school diploma or GED certificate is required.
    • Minimum two to four years of commercial / industrial / residential service experience.
    • HVAC Associates Degree or Certificate may be substituted for two years of experience.
    • Valid Colorado driver's license with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI's in previous 5 years.
    • No current or pending Workman Compensation Claims.
    • Must successfully complete background check, drug screen, physical conditions of employment job screen, and team interview as condition of employment.
    • Must provide proof of being EPA refrigerant certified Type II or Universal.
    • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and work proficiency with computers and hand-held devices such as smart phones, tablets, etc.
    • Neat appearance accompanied with good listening and communication skills in order to communicate clearly with customers, fellow technicians, support staff, and supervisory personnel.
    • Ability to get along with and work well with people on all levels.
    • Can demonstrate the ability to use and interpret diagnostic and service equipment including but not limited to volt ohm meter, amp clamp, manometer, refrigeration manifold gauges, vacuum gauges, combustion analyzer, reclaim machine, nitrogen regulator, vacuum pump, digital thermometer, air hood, and pitot tube traverse.
    • Certification or proven skills in brazing techniques utilizing an oxygen / acetylene torch.
    • Working knowledge of mechanical code.
    • Working knowledge of personal protective equipment and safety practices.
    • Ability to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions on rooftops, outside of buildings, and residences, crawlspaces, attics, and other types of confined spaces.
    • Perform physical work that requires the regular use of fingers, hands, walking, stooping, and kneeling. Regularly lift or move up to 10lbs, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift and / or move more that 50lbs.
    • Work from either a step ladder, extension ladder, or man lift with no fear of heights.
    • Demonstrate an on-going willingness to continue education through available company and industry sponsored training.
    • Good work ethic and the desire to advance professionally and personally.
    • Demonstrate good customer service skills, communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and common sense judgement.
    • Ability to maintain a positive, willing, and trainable attitude.
    • Ability to get along with and work well with people on all levels.
    • Work flexible hours on occasion depending on service access requirements.
    • Demonstrate a willingness to continue education through available company and industry training. xmcpwfu
